This YA novel is all about Alina, who was orphaned by war. As a young woman, she was drafted into the army of her war-torn homeland and sent on a dangerous mission. A mission filled with darkness and crawling with human flesh-eating monsters. I haven’t read the book but I’ve loved the show!

One Crazy Summer by Rita Williams-Garcia – ebook
This one grabbed about a million awards the year it was published. It’s about three girls visiting their long-absent poet mother in California and getting swept up into the Black Panther movement. (Full review here)

Thank You for Listening by Julia Whelan – ebook
This book is especially fun because it’s all about the world of audiobook narrating. The main character, Sewanee, used to be an actress, but now she has moved into audiobook narrating. She got her start in romance novels which she’s decided to leave that behind her, but she gets roped into doing one last romance project. This final project ends up being with the most popular male audiobook narrator of the romance genre, Brock McKnight. Heads up for one brief open door scene.
