A Tiny Bookmark Business Card
One of the things about Alt Summit is the business cards. You don’t really want to mess around here – everyone brings their A game.
As someone with zero artistic talent, this was fairly stressful for me. The last time I’d had business cards made was when I went to New York City for BEA a couple of years ago, and let me tell you – those were nothing to write home about.
But then I hit on the idea to make tiny bookmarks with a book list on the back.
Okay, I could do that.
I teamed up with Tiny Prints to have them done and one of the services they offer is a designer who will work with you. Yes! The angels sang when I saw that option.
The designer I worked with came up with a couple of variations and I picked the one I liked best and then we sent it back and forth, making tiny changes until I was 100% happy with it.
I was beyond happy with the final product and got a lot of nice comments on them from everyone at Alt (and I loved that they so perfectly represented one of my favorite things in the world).
Kayla helped me come up with the pithy descriptions for the books on the back
Then, once they arrived, I bought a tiny hole punch and some ribbon and went about making them into bookmarks. I did most of them at Alt, and Merrick and Leanne very kindly helped me assemble lots of them in the backseat of the car as we were driving to and from the Collectively dinner on Wednesday night.
I was really happy with the final product – the cards had a nice heft (but not so thick I couldn’t punch through them), and they had a subtle texture that was really gorgeous.
I ordered 200 of them, and I still have almost 100 of them left. Last week, I went to a TriFABB event (a Triangle-area bloggers group) and I was delighted to have plenty to pass around.
And if I meet you in person, I will be certain to push one on you. Pretend you haven’t seen them.
Big thanks to Tiny Prints for printing my cards free of charge!
So perfect!
What a great idea, love how they turned out!
Those are really cute!
I love them!
I love them!
I love them!
So cute, informational, and functional! Love it. I also appreciate how simple they are; if I received a business card with stickers falling out of it, I don't even know how I would process that.
What a unique idea! I think they came out great and I love the ribbon as a personal touch!
Stopping by from Funday Monday!
