It’s the FIFTH year of the Summer Reading Chart and I could not be more thrilled to share it with you!
This year’s was designed by Jorrien of Fell. I saw the Fell booth at Christkindlmarkt back in December and knew immediately I wanted to work with them on a reading chart. I grabbed their business card and held onto it until earlier this spring – when I reached out, Jorrien immediately agreed and he did the most incredible job!
The theme for this year’s is Road Trip and I LOVE how it all came together.
This year’s reading challenges (20 in all) are on the road signs spread along the interstate on the left and at the bottom are the route signs where you can track your reading all summer long.
You can decide how you want to track it – you can color in every day that you read at all, every day that you read for a certain amount of time or write in the titles of the books you’re reading. It’s up to you what works best for your family and schedule!
I haven’t even talked about all the cute details to color in, from the different ecosystems as you travel along the road to all the animals, cars, and plants.
And, as always, the summer reading chart for kids is always free! Just pop in your email address below and it’ll come right to your inbox, ready to print off.
I love hearing from teachers who print out a copy for all their students to take home as an end-of-year gift or families that pass them out to neighbors to kick off summer or pop them in their local Little Free Library. There are so many ways to use this free reading chart for kids!
You can print it at home, but I always think the most fun is doing an engineer print – it’s only a few dollars and having a big version is so fun. I have a whole rundown of how to order an engineer print here. Once you do it, you’ll never go back!
And if you use it this summer and share it on Instagram, please tag me (@everydayreading) and Fell (@madebyfell) so we can see them in action!
P.S. The four previous Summer Reading Charts are all still available for free here, if you’d like those ones instead!

Hi,
I am having trouble getting this to print If I reduce it to fit on 81/2×11 the road signs don’t shrink. so the words run over the borders and into the art work. I can’t seem to get it to print out over 4 sheets so that it’s the full size either. Is there something I’m not doing?
Thanks for your help!

This year’s theme is so fun! I’d sure appreciate a copy of the 8.5″ x 11′ version — I plan to hand out copies at our last Girl Scout meeting of the school year and I’ll also leave copies in two Little Free Libraries in my neighborhood. Love these charts! Thank you!!
Janssen Bradshaw says
The file will work great for that size! Just click the “scale to fit” or “fit to page” button on your print screen when you go to print it off.

Hello, I’ve tried to print it to 11 X 14 (which I did last year) but the image won’t fill the page.
Suggestions?
Thank you.
Janssen Bradshaw says
You’ll need to press a button on your print screen that says something like “scale to fit” or “fit to page.”
