8 Book Deals for a Labor Day Weekend
Happy Labor Day weekend!
We don’t have a lot of plans this holiday weekend – a birthday breakfast for my father-in-law and possibly seeing the new Spiderman movie – and I’m hoping for lots of good reading and puzzling.
There are some great book deals going on this weekend – here are my favorites!
The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion (Vol. 1 – Vol. 5) Bundle by Beth Brower – audiobook – $2.99 each!
This deal was supposed to end this week, but they extended it! I can’t believe the first 5 books are on sale for under $3. If you’ve been around for awhile, you know I love this series! I had read the entire series twice before these came out on audio and I was so excited to try out the audio version – wait until you hear all the voices the narrator does! And if you struggled getting into the physical books, I’m telling you the audiobook really helps.
Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid – ebook – $1.99
I was ALL IN on this book once I started it. It’s the story of a rock music band in the seventies, and it’s hard to remember that it’s a novel, not non-fiction. It feels THAT real. It’s told through interviews with Daisy and Billy and other members of the band, family members and friends. It could be wildly confusing, but somehow it just WORKS. And the audio version is incredible!
Happier Hour by Cassie Holmes – audiobook – $6.99
This was the January book for 2023 Everyday Reading Book Club and I couldn’t stop talking about it. I love a self-help book and this one has so many good practical tips for making your life happier, no matter what your current life looks like. I especially love implementing ideas about having better weekends!
The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin – audiobook – $4.99
This was another Everyday Reading Book Club pick and I’ve read it twice! AJ Fikry is a grumpy bookshop owner who is losing money, has his rarest book stolen, and then finds a baby left on his doorstep. This book is a reader’s DELIGHT. (Full review here)
One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid – audiobook – $5.99
Imagine if the love of your life died in a plane crash and then, when you’d finally moved on, it turned out he wasn’t dead at all. I stayed up WAYYYYY too late reading this one. . (Full review here).
The Blonde Identity by Ally Carter – audiobook – $4.99
I loved this funny spy romantic comedy with a dose of action packed adventure. Zoe wakes up in Paris with zero memory, but when she is mistaken for her spy twin sister, there are a lot of people who want her dead. This one has dual narrators (there are two narrators on the audiobook, which was extra fun) and I just loved every second of this book.
Meet Me in the Margins by Melissa Ferguson – audiobook – $3.99
This is such a cute fun romance! An editor at Savannah’s dream publishing company is asking for the manuscript of a romance novel she has been secretly writing behind the scenes, while working at a different publishing company. She hides her manuscript in a hidden room, but later discovers someone has found it and started jotting very critical edits in the margins. This mystery editor is not only helping make her manuscript better, but could she be falling for him too?
The Frog Princess by E.D. Baker – ebook – $1.99
It may not be the full on Disney version, but this one is a classic! Princess Emma suddenly finds herself a frog after kissing a frog prince. They both set off to find a way to become human again.
