In the summer, romance reading reigns supreme and if it is a summer romance? Well, that’s even better!
Here are ten of my favorite summer romance books – let me know in the comments if I missed any favorites!

10 DELIGHTFUL SUMMER ROMANCE BOOKS

Summer Romance by Annabel Monaghan
What’s summer reading without a little romance? I loved her book Nora Goes Off Script, and I loved this one even more! It follows Ali who is a professional organizer and a personal mess as she becomes a new single mom. Will a summer romance make her life more or less messy?

One Golden Summer by Carley Fortune
This was my third Carley Fortune book, and I think it was my favorite of hers so far! When photographer Alice returns to the lake for a quiet summer with her grandmother, she doesn’t expect Charlie Florek, the boy in the photo that changed her life, to reappear and change everything.

Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen
It’s always a good summer when there is a Sarah Dessen book involved (I am a huge fan! I think I have read every single one of her books.) In this one, Auden, an insomniac, meets Eli – her nights turn into a summer of unexpected adventures, connection, and possibility.

Funny Story by Emily Henry
I don’t think I could have a summer romance list without an Emily Henry book. This one in particular displays what she does best, romance with substance, character development, A+ banter and a fun plot. Daphne’s fiancé decides to run off with his childhood best friend, leaving Daphne homeless and friendless. Daphne actually moves in with said childhood best friend’s ex-boyfriend. Both in dire grief, they end up forming a friendship and more.

The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han
I read this book more than a decade ago and just one look at the title takes me back to that hot Texas summer. It’s not QUITE as good as her To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series, but it’s darn good. A perfect summer read that’ll mean you probably have to read the whole trilogy. (Full review here)

The Love Haters by Katherine Center
I’ll read anything Katherine Center writes, and The Love Haters is another fun, feel-good hit about two love-haters: Katie, recently dumped and jobless, and Hutch, a Coast Guard rescue swimmer. Let’s just say they end up tangled in work, water, and maybe something more. The witty banter and charming setup set at the beach make it a perfect summer romance!

The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren
I couldn’t put together a list of summer romance books without including a Christina Lauren book. In this one, unlucky Olive ends up on her twin sister’s all-expenses-paid honeymoon with her nemesis, Ethan, after the entire wedding party gets food poisoning…except for them. As they fake newlywed bliss in Maui, Olive starts to wonder if her luck is finally starting to change.

Rebel Summer by Cindy Steel
I listened to this one after I had already read The One With the Kiss Cam by Cindy Steel. It was delightful and a perfect summer read. I haven’t read any of the others in the Falling for Summer series, but would love to, especially after how much I liked this one!

The Five-Star Weekend by Elin Hilderbrand
I almost always enjoy an Elin Hilderbrand book – they’re so easy to dive into for the summer and this one totally worked for me. She does a sense of place as well as anyone I’ve read and I’m dying to visit Nantucket someday because of her novels!

Open Road Summer by Emery Lord
Reagan has just broken up with her boyfriend (good riddance to him) and fortunately she has just the right distraction since her best friend has recently become a teen country sensation and they’re headed off together on a 24-city tour. Of course, the OTHER perfect distraction arrives when the opening act joins the tour in the form of very charming and very handsome Matt Finch. Drama-free summer? Maybe not.
