March Favorites
- A panini party thrown by my friend Kasee. She’s a great cook and she goes ALL out for her parties. There was a huge table of panini ingredients, Italian sodas, a couple of appetizers, salads, chips, and several desserts. I think she should have one every weekend.
- Putting away the winter clothes and getting out the summer stuff (Ella’s were more fun to go through).
- The Joy the Baker cookbook. I checked out a copy from the library and I have bookmarked practically every recipe. I’m especially intrigued by the Goat Cheese Black Pepper Truffles (Bart is more nervous, but whatever).
- A whole week of having Bart off of work. Obviously the highlight of the month.
- All you awesome people who signed up for the appSmitten newsletter. I love you guys.
- This cinnamon chocolate chip cake. It is so easy, no weird ingredients, and it tastes ridiculously wonderful. I made it twice last week and got rave reviews both times.
- Ella’s recent love of cooking. She requests to “coooook” at least once a day. Making dinner is so much easier now that she wants to be involved, rather than sobbing on the floor because I’m not playing with her.
- Getting my nails done at the Beauty Bar during SXSW and meeting some of the folks from Daily Buzz.
- Collecting things for Ella’s Easter basket. I am so much more excited about this than I should be.
- The gorgeous, gorgeous weather. I am dying over how nice it’s been.
- Starting running again several times a week with a couple of friends. So much easier to get out of bed when someone is waiting for you.
- A little elementary school carnival that Ella loved. She rode a pony (I died of the cuteness).
- Having family photos taken by Ralphie. We’ve only been meaning to have them done for . . . a year.
Anything you loved a lot in March?
I think my March favorite was working at the university while all the undergrad students were home studying for exams. It was so quiet around here, lovely!
J.'s in town! That's my March fun, and it's been delightful!
Love this photo of Ella cooking!
I bought myself a treat over the weekend- the Pioneer Woman's new cookbook, and I am loving it so far! I haven't tried anything yet, but most of it is marked up!
Taylor is also nervous a lot these days about the food I try out. Luckily, most of it is okay- whew! I'm loving all the new food blogs I've discovered.
I love putting together Easter baskets for my kids. I also have wonderful memories of waking up to mine; I always got fancy stuff like white patent leather shoes or white gloves. I just bought two Lindt solid chocolate bunnies for our baskets because my husband read a comparison of top tasting bunnies and Lindt won!
Where are these family photos??!
I've been loving your blog! I started reading a while ago for the book reviews, but I've really loved the new look and the great assortment of posts you've been doing (one of my favorites being "It doesn't take much…"). I haven't commented before, but just wanted to say thanks for sharing. 🙂
Yes, I want to see family photos too! Also I am glad you enjoyed the party! I had a blast so I am glad to hear that others did too! I will have to start planning the next one…I just need a good idea!!
So glad you enjoyed the Panini party! I had fun doing it that is for sure! And I want to see family photos too! I will have to start thinking of my next fun party! Your Pi party was great too…lots of pie, what's not to like?!
My March favorites this year: Daffodils and forsythia in full bloom and getting to ride with the top down on my convertible. All rarities for the month…
