Changing My Tune
For years, I’ve worn skirts and dresses only on Sundays or for a special occasion or event.
But this summer, as the Phoenix heat has started rolling back in, I’ve started to understand the draw of a casual skirt or dress when it’s a chilly 117 degrees and you’d like to avoid heat stroke.
My friend Kayla is just launching a skirt line called Lark, and as soon as I tried on this skirt, I was sold. It’s long enough to easily wear while I’m playing with my kids, the elastic waistband means it’s totally comfortable (but it’s a flat waistband in the front, so it looks a little more polished), and it has pockets, so I can stash my keys and phone when we’re going to the park.
I know that my jeans aren’t packed away for good, but it’s nice to expand my repertoire a little.
Lovely look! FYI – The site for the skirt says "Payments Not Connected This store has not yet set-up payments. Checkout is disabled." I would have gotten one! 🙁
Hi Keri- I fixed it! The site was being a little buggy this morning but I got it all worked out.
I love this skirt!!! So, so pretty!

Super lovely!! I hope she does well 🙂 I've always been a skirt-person but unfortunately I can't wear skirts with pockets since I think they "fill out" my hips too much. One tip for designers would be to make the pockets in a light fabric that doesn't make the skirt stand out at the hips 🙂 anyway, I'm new to your feed and so far it's great! I live in Copenhagen, Denmark but come fromdweden. I've lived in Dublin, Ireland for a dozen or so years so I read most of my books in English.
