What can’t be made better with chocolate and bananas?
Tomorrow I don’t have to go to work; I’m sitting on the couch with Bart drinking chocolate banana shakes; we’re having a picnic with friends tomorrow and probably seeing Ratatouille; right now I couldn’t care less if it rained. Tomorrow will be good.
I’m listening to some Amy Winehouse right now, on YouTube, on some various recommendations. It’s making me realize that I need some new music; I’m getting tired of all the same things I’ve listened to a million times.
I know that some of you are pretty serious music listeners (Megan, I’m speaking to you here) and the rest of you probably at least like music. So let me know what your current favorite two songs are (and who performs them), and I will check them out. And if they are lame, I will not judge you. Because most of my music taste is lame too. Share the wealth!
Happy 4th of July!
Janssen…I come via Jen. And here are two of my most recent favs…with links to download:
bubbly – colbie caillat and since you’ve been around – rosie thomas. I love to share music.
I think you should check out some of the bands playing at the aforementioned ACL Fest. Speaking for myself, the list of performers reads like a who’s who in my current music playlist now. Spoon is an Austin-based band that I just discovered and really like. I fear judgment, so I will stop.
Chocolate and bananas ..Yummmm..
So lately I really love Fergie’s new single “Big Girls Don’t Cry” – but nothing else on her new album is worth listening to. And I love anything by Feist – her latest album is “Reminder”.
I don’t know if you like Celtic stuff at all, but Loreena McKennitt’s got some really, really hauntingly beautiful songs — “Mummer’s Dance” and her rendition of “The Lady of Shalott” are great for starters.
William Joseph is a newish pianist I like–he performed at Women’s Conference and my mom got me the CD. Totally not boring piano.
Ok this is kind of embarrassing but I love Pink’s U+Ur Hand right now. Every time it comes on the radio I crank up the volume and rock my way down the road.
I also really like Hey There Delilah by Plain White T’s. More often than not it’s playing as I get in my car to go home from work and that’s my favorite time of day, so that makes it a good song in my book.
hehe. Okay, are you seriously thinking that I’m going to be able to pick TWO songs? Yikes. First I’d like to second the shout out about Feist – her Mushaboom, 1 2 3 4, and My Man, My Moon are all AMAZING. But those don’t count as my two songs.
I’m going to say two current favorite songs are “Starlight” by Muse and “Janet” by the Format, but I also really want to put in a plug for the Shins (“Australia,” “A Comet Appears”) and Travis, whose newish CDs are both incredibly fantastic. You will enjoy the Travis song “Selfish Jean” because they are British and talk about chocolate biscuits. 🙂
Oh, picking two songs is so not cool. There are so many I want to tell you about!!
