Ender’s Game

I’d read it before but when I picked up a copy and blew through it in a day or two, it reminded me of how great that feeling of being completely absorbed by a story can be

I asked my Instagram community what books got them back into reading and I loved all the answers!

(P.S. So many people were embarrassed that it was Twilight that got them back into reading - no shame at all! If you were around 18 years ago, you might remember how much I loved Twilight and talked about it on Everyday Reading, way before it became fully uncool to love Twilight).
When people say “what do you say to people who s When people say “what do you say to people who say that audiobooks don’t count as real reading?” my answer is “why would I even bother with this conversation?”

If someone is that committed to making sure only what they deem “real” counts in my annual book count, I can tell you right here and now that this is not someone I’m interested in having much of a conversation with and what do I care what they think about my reading life?

And I really love watching the official announcements and seeing if I agree or disagree with their picks (and it is so fun to hear what you and your kids and students pick as favorites too!)

Comment with the word BOOKS and I’ll send the link for this year’s list of 40+ picture books right to your DMs!

Grab this one next time you’re at the library!

Comment with the word LINK and I’ll send the link to this book plus some other favorite interactive picture books!
As a lifelong library user (and someone who is run As a lifelong library user (and someone who is running out of bookshelf space!), I’m almost always going to choose a library book if it’s available.

And the Library Extension (which works on Chrome and Firefox) makes it super easy for me to know if my library has a book!

Have you used this before?

Comment with the word EXTENSION and I’ll send the directions right to your DMs along with a big list of libraries that offer non-resident cards!
