Big News! Audible now has Kids Profiles!

One of my favorite things is when products I love and use frequently get even better.
And Audible – which we use in our house literally daily – just added a new feature that I’m SO thrilled about!
Audible now offers a Kids profile!
This means that you can create a profile within your Audible account that’s designed for children and you can add any titles from your library to the Kids Profile so they can listen without having access to your entire library.
Here’s how to set up a Kids profile on Audible (if you don’t have an Audible membership, you can sign up for one here!):
– Open the Audible App
– Click the Profile button in the bottom right corner
– Scroll down and you’ll see the option to “Create A Kids Profile”
– It’ll pop up an explanation of the Kids Profile and then you choose “Create a Kids Profile”
Once that’s done, you can start adding titles to your child’s profile.
Go to the “Library” section of your Audible app and then find a title you want to add to the Audible Kids Profile and tap the three dots to the right of the title. A menu will pop up and you can select “Share with Kids Profile.”
You can add as many titles as you want to the Kids profile. When you enter the Kids profile, they won’t be able to exit back to your full Audible library without your password!
Within the kids profile, they’ll still be able to use player controls like the listening speed or sleep timer.
And even better news – Disney and Audible have created new, original stories with beloved characters from Frozen, Cars, and Star Wars that the whole family can enjoy together.
There is Disney Frozen: Olaf’s Quest, Star Wars: Padawan’s Pride and Disney Pixar Cars: The Legend of the Crystal Hubcap. My girls are especially delighted by Olaf’s new story since they’ve been Frozen fans since they were tiny (the first Frozen movie came out when my oldest was 3 years old!).
These audio adventures are brand-new and only available on Audible with more stories joining the collection soon!
They’re perfect for listening to in the car together, at bedtime or during quiet play (you know there’s nothing I love more than the combo of quiet time and audiobooks).
If you have an Audible membership already, you can get started with a Kids profile immediately (and make sure to add those new Disney stories to your Kids profile!).
If you don’t have an Audible membership, you can sign up here and get instant access to these delightful new Disney stories, plus thousands of other fantastic audiobooks.
And if you have any questions about the new Kids profile, leave them in the comments and I’m happy to help!
How do you actually get into the kids profile? I’ve added my
Books but can’t figure out how to find the actual kids profile.
me too!
We are not seeing the option to create a kids’ profile in our account.
We have our audible account that’s not synced to our Amazon account. Could that be why?
I’m a current member but don’t have the kids profile option. App is the current version.
Yay!! I was actually just thinking about this the other day! It’s about time!!!
Do I just download the app to my child’s tablet? I don’t want to have to give up my phone so they can listen.
yep!
How does this work with the Amazon Echo? Both my kids have Echo Dots and I’d love to put them in kids mode, but if I do that, they don’t have access to my Audible Plus catalog (something you noted in your post about the Echo). Does this fix that issue?
How do I have my grandkids be able to listen to the audible books I bought for them in my account when they are at their house? Usually I just have them listen to them when we are driving in my car.
They’d need a device or an Echo Dot that is logged into your account
