Six years ago, I didn’t know that you would still call me every day on your way home from work, even though it’s only a seven or eight minute drive.
I didn’t know you’d get up and play with our baby or take her in the bathroom with you while you shave many many mornings so I could get a little more sleep, even though you’re the one that has to go to work.
I didn’t know you’d pick the chocolate dessert every single time over the fruit desserts.
I didn’t know you’d clean the bathrooms any time I asked (and do a better job than I ever do).
I didn’t know you’d tell people often what a good cook I am, and how much I’d appreciate that.
I didn’t know you’d kick the sheets untucked every night before you went to sleep (you probably didn’t guess I’d retuck them EVERY SINGLE DAY).
I didn’t know you would have strong opinions about carpet in living areas.
I’m glad to know those things now. Tonight we’ll celebrate with a chocolate dessert. Happy Anniversary.
