Raiding My Sister’s Closet: Wardrobe Workhorse – Leopard Flats

You know those lists you always see that talk about “closet essentials”? I don’t own most of them (although I DID finally buy myself a pair of black heels this year. At a super fancy boutique called Ross).

The year, we’re doing a little mini-series as part of Raiding My Sister’s Closet where we highlight items that do get a lot of use in our closets.

My first item are my leopard flats. I bought them on a complete whim two years ago when Madeline at Uber Chic for Cheap wore them in a post. They were $13 from Kohl’s and I immediately loved them (it didn’t hurt that they felt like slippers). In fact, they were one of the very first pictures I posted on Instagram.

I LOVE these shoes. I figured I’d wear them once in a while, but I ended up wearing them constantly. They made any outfit look better. They added pattern and upgraded any outfit. They looked great with jeans and a t-shirt, but they also looked good with a dressy outfit. They are, without question, my most worn pair of shoes.

In fact, I’ve worn them so much that they are ready to be retired. They are frayed and thin and they aren’t looking their best anymore.

I finally ordered a replacement pair this past week from Nine West (they were on big sale) and I’m hoping they are a worthy replacement. And that they feel like slippers.

Vest: c/o Choies // Sweater: Old Navy // Jeans: Gap // Shoes: Kohl’s // Sunglasses: stolen from Erica // Bag: c/o Lily Jade

  1. You look lovely, as usual… and I have been swooning over that bag since you first wrote about it! I am wearing a nearly identical vest today and it's one of my favorites! I have leopard flats, too, but they're loafers… you've inspired me to buy this shape! Let us know how the Nine West ones turn out!

  2. I love my leopard flats, too–never would have guessed that such a busy animal print could seriously go with everything. This whole outfit is adorable!
