Day in the Life – Summer 2025
I love doing these Day in the Life posts (I’ve been doing them since my oldest daughter was less than 2 year olds!) and it is wild how much life changes.
And even in the summer, I kept waiting for a “normal” day to record but eventually just realized that summer is its own beast!
Here’s what a summer weekday looked like this month:
6:30 a.m. My alarm goes off and I roll out of bed and get dressed for the gym, brush my teeth and hair, and then take a load of laundry down to the washing machine. I pop into my office and post my reel for the morning and the little girls gather up the library books that are due so we can return them on our way home from swim team. We hop in the car and head out for swim team.
7:00 a.m. I sit in my car for about 20 minutes catching up on DMs and then head into the gym and do a strength training workout while the girls do swim team. We finish up at about the same time and head home. I realize a block or two late that I forgot to return the library books, so we circle back and I drop them in the library drop box and then we head home for real.
8:15 a.m. I switch the laundry, make the bed and take a shower, then get dressed and do my hair and makeup while I listen to scriptures. The two little girls shower and then Tally gets on for her Savvy class. When I come out of the bathroom, Bart is just coming home from the gym with a friend and Ella is done with her Chinese tutoring and the two of them sunscreen up and head out to play some pickleball.
9:00 a.m. I send some texts about events going on later today and start my breakfast while listening to an audiobook until Star comes in and makes some oatmeal. Tally does her piano practice. While my breakfast cooks, I sit down and start this post.
9:30 a.m. I sit down at my desk and clear out my inbox, send an email about the Audible deal going on right now (3 free months!), send some texts and videos to my team, and then film some video clips for a reel with Tally. Bart and Ella get home and we chat for a few minutes before Bart heads off to shower and I switch the laundry again.
10:30 a.m. I post in my broadcast channel and my mother-in-law stops by to drop off a few things we left on our trip last weekend. I share the Audible deal on my InstaStories and then make the reel with the clips I just filmed. Afterward, I prep my reel for tonight so it is all ready to go.
11:40 a.m. I film a reel for an upcoming blog post. I have a reel and stories for a sponsor that I need to film and I’ve been putting it off all morning, but now I realize that I can still bang it out before lunch if I hurry. Thirty minutes later, it’s done and I’m glad I didn’t put it off any longer.
12:30 p.m. Bart comes up to the kitchen for lunch and everyone starts prepping their food. I make myself some avocado toast and then finish off with a small bowl of cereal. After lunch, we load up the beach bag, change into swimsuits and put the mini kayaks in the van and the girls and I head to Salem Pond to meet up with some friends. It is about a 30 minute drive so we listen to Summer of the Monkeys on the way.
1:40 p.m. We arrive, unload the kayaks and find our friends. I set up my chair in the shade and the moms chat for a couple of hours while the kids swim, kayak and play.
4:30 p.m. We gather everything up, load up the very hot car and drive home, listening to our audiobook. We unpack everything and then the girls shower while I change back into my regular clothes and fold all my laundry that’s sitting on my bed while I listen to my audiobook.
6:00 p.m. I’m going out for a birthday dinner with friends so Bart is feeding the girls – they set the table and Bart preps some food for everyone while the little girls play with the new Paperfold book.
6:30 p.m. I sit down at the table with everyone while they eat and then while Bart does the dishes, I post my reel for the evening and some sponsored stories and then prep a gift for my friend. Four friends show up at my house around 7 p.m. and I drive to the restaurant.
7:00 p.m. It’s closed! The sign says there is a family event and they aren’t open today. We quickly regroup in the parking lot and choose a sushi restaurant nearby instead. We eat and chat until it becomes clear we are the last people in the restaurant and everything is being cleaned up around us.
9:30 pm. We stand outside for another 15 or 20 minutes and then drive home.
10:00 p.m. The girls are all in bed and Bart is ready for bed. I quickly get changed, brush my teeth and face, and send some quick texts about pickleball the next morning before turning off the lights, turning on our sound machine and getting into bed. Bart and I chat for a few minutes, pray together, and then the day is done!
