Boston, Continued

I didn’t mean to be all mysterious about Boston – because it’s been forefront in my mind for nearly a year now, it seemed obvious to me why we were moving.

But, for those of you who do not spend 75% of your waking hours (and 50% of your sleeping ones) pondering my future, perhaps it was not quite so obvious.

Bart has accepted a job in Boston, so once he graduates in August, we’ll be off. I am thrilled, of course, about the job, the new city, the adventure, the East Coast.

But my heart will break into a million pieces when we leave Austin.

i knew that you wouldn’t be staying in austin because of some of your previous posts. i’m so excited for you both!

i know what its like to dig some roots + leave and ‘have your heart break into a million pieces’… because over the last 7 years, it’s happened twice. but things like that make you stronger and wiser 🙂 as if you need any more of either!

I figured it was Bart’s job driving the move, but it’s great that he already has a position! It makes finishing school much easier.

I’m excited for you to become an adopted New Englander! I hope the cold weather rubs its charm off on you. 🙂

I do hope you love it here! I talk a good Boston game, so as long as you don’t mind the cold weather I think you’re going to be very happy with your decision.

We’ve got the best friends moving to Boston this summer. [Taylor and Jodi if you’d like to blog stalk them]. We keep talking about visiting them next year, it’d be great to see you too! 🙂

will you be done with school by then? That is awesome…it seems like a fun place to visit, so maybe we will have to now that we have official tour guides to show us around!

🙂 Moving is what you make it. Going at it the way you are – making it the grand adventure – will help make the transition smoother. You and Bart seem to have such a wonderful attitude. Also, since you will be going in August, that will let you ease into to winter. You’ll get to see all those glorious leaves again. (I’m almost jealous!)

Will you be finished with your schooling by August?

What do your families think of you two moving so far away? I know you are far now, but the driving time is much longer. (I guess with cell phones and computers it isn’t as big a deal that it was when I was your age.) I’m just thinking about how much I miss actually seeing my son and grandchildren. I “feel” for your families.

Hooray for the East! Do you have anyone in Boston? Some of our good friends in Rochester just moved there. If you need a contact for any reason, let me know, I’m sure they’d be glad to help anyway they can!
