I just shared my January reads earlier this week (you can see them here!) and now I’m excited for a new month of reading – so many good books to get to!

Here are some ones worth snagging at a discount this weekend!

Book Deals to Start Off February

the blonde identityThe Blonde Identity by Ally Carter – audiobook – $7.99
I just picked this up after so many people raved about it! This is a light and fluffy spy romantic comedy with a dose of action packed adventure. Zoe wakes up in Paris with zero memory, but when she is mistaken for her spy twin sister, there are a lot of people who want her dead.

Warmth of Other SunsThe Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration by Isabel Wilkerson – ebook – $1.99
One of my all-time favorite book club reads, this terrific book chronicles the exodus of nearly six million Black individuals and families from the Southern states to the West Coast and Northern cities between 1915 to 1970 and focuses on three specific people that each go to a different city in a different decade.

im still here black dignity in a world made for whitenessI’m Still Here: Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness by Austin Channing Brown – ebook – $1.99
This book isn’t long but it’s powerful and gripping.  I loved that she shares both her own experiences as well as concrete ideas for how we can do better at making our communities, schools, churches and workplaces more equitable places. I included this one on the Summer Reading Guide a few years ago!

Better than beforeBetter Than Before: What I Learned About Making and Breaking Habits by Gretchen Rubin – ebook – $4.99
I love how practical this book is and especially how Rubin helps you identify what kinds of strategies will work for YOU as you set goals and develop new habits. Plus, I find her writing so delightful and interesting. I love all her books, including The Happiness Project, but this one is definitely my favorite. (Full review here)

after i doAfter I Do by Taylor Jenkins Reid – ebook – $1.99
This one was about a couple that fell in love in college but after seven years of marriage, they are on the verge of divorce and so they decide to take a year apart with zero contact. It’s not as good as some of her later books, but still a fun fast read that I blew through in a single airplane ride.

The Snow ChildThe Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey – ebook – $1.99
I really enjoyed the December book from the 2023 Everyday Reading Book Club. This one is set in Alaska in the 1920s, following a couple who has recently arrived trying to make it as homesteaders. It’s pretty bleak for them until they find a little girl, Faina, who lives alone in the forest.

Die with zeroDie With Zero by Bill Perkins – audiobook – $5.06
Bart and I both read this one and we talked about it NON-STOP. It’s been such a fascinating and useful way to think about how I spend my life and what I want out of the money I make. It feels like one of those books that almost everyone would get something out of! Also, it’s a book club book later this year, so snag a cheap copy now!

Amari and the night brothersAmari and the Night Brothers by B. B. Alston – audiobook – $5.99
This is a fantasy book that snagged spots on many best of the year lists when it came out. I considered just giving it to Ella to read but . . . I didn’t want to miss out on this story about a girl who is determined to find her missing brother and discovers that magic is real in the process. We all loved this one!

the cheat sheetThe Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams – audiobook – $3.99
Bree is in love with her best friend, who just happens to be the very attractive NFL legend, Nathan Donelson. He clearly only sees her as a friend, but after a drunken night and an interview with a TMZ reporter they might turn out to be the perfect couple after all. Sarah Adams is a great closed-door romance writer and I’ve loved all her books I’ve read so far.
