Book Deals for the Weekend of August 22
First week of school in the books!
I’m looking forward to a little time off this weekend and lots of good reading (I know it’s still August, but I’m all in on this fall romance on Kindle Unlimited! I might end up reading the whole series!)
Here are some book deals you may want to check out this weekend!

No Purchase Necessary by Maria Marianayagam – audiobook – $3.99
This is the August book club pick for 2026 and I often like to read them aloud to my kids during the summer. It is about a boy who gets peer-pressured into stealing a candy bar and then, when the boy who told him to do it, rejects it, he opens it to discover it is a million dollar prize winning candy bar.

The Bodyguard’s Fall by Cindy Steel – ebook – $4.99
I’ve been reading this cozy fall book during our daily family reading time! This closed door romance has been so cute and fun! (It’s also included on Kindle Unlimited.)

Switch: How to Change Things When Change Is Hard by Chip Heath and Dan Heath
I read their book The Power of Moments for Everyday Reading Book Club and it easily became one of the best books I read in 2024. In this one, they explore the reason change is so hard, and it comes down to a battle in your brain between logic and emotion. They break down exactly how real people (and companies) have figured out how to get both sides on the same team.

Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell – ebook – $2.99
I haven’t read this but my sister just told me about it in detail and now I’m dying to read it. It gives more insight into the life, marriage, and loss of a child that Shakespeare went through before writing one of his most well-known plays Hamlet.

Home Work: A Memoir of My Hollywood Years by Julie Andrews – ebook – $1.99
My girls have been really into Mary Poppins lately and so this book on super sale popped right out to me because it’s basically impossible not to love Julie Andrews.

The Terrible Two by Mac Barnett & Jory John – audiobook – $3.99
Ella and I listened to it together several years ago (all of my kids went on and listened to the rest of them one million times) and it’s hilarious about two boys trying to out-prank each other. Now, all of my girls can recite pretty much the entire book from memory because they’ve listened to it so many times. (Plus, this one is a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make a Yoto card!)

The One With the Kiss Cam by Cindy Steel – audiobook – $3.99
This book was pure delight! Nora is on a disastrous first date at an NBA game. But when her date gets up to get concessions, the kiss cam hovers over her and the stranger sitting next to her…let’s just say it might just be love at first kiss! This one is clean and funny with great banter and led me down the rabbit hole of other Cindy Steel books!
