Better than That Weekend We Didn’t Leave the House at All
On our way to B and Ralphie’s last Sunday for some birthday celebration, Bart said “We should go camping this weekend.” And when I agreed, we launched our patented formula for a successful event – we invited B and Ralphie and then left the entire thing up to them.
As usual, they pulled it off with aplomb. We ended up with eight adults and eight children, hot dogs, s’mores, butterscotch pancakes, chips, granola bars, and breakfast tacos. It was a lovely weekend, with perfect weather.
We intend to convince B and Ralphie to make it happen all over again in October, when we have another cool week.
We also went to the UT v. Rice football game, played some Ticket to Ride with the Lauritzens, and accepted a dinner invitation for Sunday night. I could go into further detail, but all you really need to know is that I did not do one iota of homework this weekend.
My life, it’s one of a partier.
Wow, you guys did a great job of being entertained this weekend. Congratulations. Butterscotch pancakes and breakfast tacos (what are those?) – sounds like gourmet camping fare. Our dutch oven peach cobbler and omelets in a bag almost compare, but not quite.
Love your use of the word aplomb by the way.
Dang, I make a good dog.
It could possibly have been a bit better had Bart shoved over and given me some little coal. What’s up with that guy and hoggin all the heat?
Eagle scouts. They think they know everything about hot dogs.
I need to know more about these breakfast tacos.
Have we discussed before that I, too, love Ticket to Ride? I know I told you I have Bohnanza but I also have both the US and European version of TtR. Love it! The Europe version might be my fave. What a fun weekend you had!
How fun! I love roasted hot dogs!
Wait a dang second! What in the hey are breakfast tacos?! I’m so depressed I haven’t heard of them before!!
I can’t even tell you the last time I went camping. It was at LEAST 3 years ago.
That makes me sad.
