A huge update for Savvy Reading and Savvy Math
It’s been almost six years since we launched Savvy Reading and this week, we added something new that people have been asking for since nearly the beginning!
If you’re new to Savvy, it is online tutoring for math and reading with a live teacher! Reading is for Pre-K to 6th grade levels and Math is for 1-5th grade levels.
Keep in mind that those aren’t the same as the grade your child might currently be in. If your child is in 7th grade, but struggling with reading and at a 4th or 5th grade level, they can absolutely still do Savvy!
You can take a free assessment to see where they land – here is the free reading assessment and here is the free math assessment.
Since the beginning, Savvy Reading and Savvy Math have both been 4 days a week (Monday through Thursday).
For many families, finding room in their schedule for 4 classes a week was tricky!
Or the price of 4 days a week was not feasible within their budget
So I’m thrilled that Savvy now has options for 2 and 3 days a week as well as the original 4 days a week!
I’m so happy that this will make Savvy more feasible for so many more families!
Here are some messages I’ve gotten about Savvy:
“My son today after class: “you know how they said that kids who think they aren’t going to like it, they like it after one class? well, they are RIGHT!”
“6 weeks of Savvy Reading and I just found her reading to herself. My heart might explode. Best decision we made this year for her!”
“Emily was bouncing off the wall she had so much fun in her first session. You did a good thing with this program”
“So my daughter not only LOVESSSS it but her reading level has also SKYROCKETED! She went from teetering on even meeting grade level to being at grade level in a few short months. But even more important to me, she has found a love of reading!!! She finished her first chapter book last week and I was definitely crying!! We were also on vacation last week and missed 2 days of Savvy reading and she was so mad at me!! She would legit stop anything, even playing with friends, to not miss her Savvy Reading!!”
“He loves Savvy! It is the one thing he will stay focused on and do independently and is always excited for! He’s eagerly waiting in suspense about different stories. We just got his reading scores back from school, and they are amazing! His teacher said, “Whatever you are doing keep doing it!” He loves his Savvy teacher and has connected so well with her! We are so grateful for this wonderful program! Thank you!”
“We just finished our parent teacher conference for our kindergartner and learned she’s above grade level for reading!! We’ve been doing savvy since November and in the fall conference she was struggling! She loves her class and looks forward to it everyday!”
As always, you can try a Savvy class for free right here (no credit card required!) and if you decide to sign up, use the code JANSSEN25!
If you have any questions about Savvy, leave a comment and I’m happy to help!

Hi! As a long time reader I’ve been interested in Savvy for a while, but My oldest is just 3. Would Savvy pre-k be a good fit for someone who is just barely learning letters? Basically I’m wondering how soon we can start!
Yes! That’s a great stage – I’d do a free trial class and see how your child does!
