Home Sweet Home

I always like coming home from vacation. It’s nice not to live out of a suitcase, and eat your own regular food, and have normal nap and sleeping schedules.

But when the place you’re leaving has a ten-day forecast that looks like this:

and you come home to THIS forecast:

Well. . . . it’s not quite as sweet to be home.

We had a fantastic time in Utah for the last week, attending a family reunion at Bear Lake, hanging out with Bart’s family, and celebrating Landen’s wedding.

Bart and I also went to dinner at Pizzeria 712 with Kayla and Aaron (who happened to be in town at the same time) and they made me totally sad we don’t live near each other. And, by complete coincidence, who should be dining there at the same time, but Miss Nemesis. In 2007, it was her blog where Kayla saw my name on a comment, hopped over to my blog to see if I was the same Janssen who had many friends in common with her, and the rest is history.

After three courses, Kayla and I worked up enough courage to go introduce ourselves and, behold, she was very nice. Mini-BlogHer indeed.

  1. Gah. How nasty. And you didn't include humidity in that forecast. That makes a huge difference too. (I assume Texas is humid?)

  2. It may be hot in Texas now, but just remember why you live in Texas and not Utah or Idaho. You don't have to put up with the months of fog, snow, ice, wind, and frigid temps. 😉

Can't wait to see some pictures of the wedding. You will post a couple, yes please?

  3. You have a beautiful family! Both your sweet little family and larger family. I love the photo of all of you.

I kind of wish I would have been at that restaurant that night! I love Miss Nem and recently dined with her in SLC, so how cool would it have been to meet you in person?! Maybe one of these times. 🙂 The blogging world can be so small sometimes…
