Admitting Bart was Right

For YEARS, Bart has been telling me I look better in bright colors, and I’ve been insisting that I prefer to wear neutral colors.
And then after 31 for 31, when I could look at an entire month of outfits all together, I sheepishly said, “Okay, I think you’re right. I like myself in bright colors better too.”
He was nice enough not to gloat.
(You’d better believe that if I’D been trying to convince Bart of something for nearly a decade and he finally admitted I was in the right, I’d be gloating. But that’s just proof that Bart is a much nicer person than I am).

Shirt: Old Navy, Jeans: Target, Sandals: Old Navy

I’ve said before that I don’t like collared shirts, but I’m discovering that if they either made of really soft fabrics or don’t have an actual collar (just button up the front), then I kind of love them.
Here are a couple I’ve got my eye on:

  1. So this morning I was interviewed for a documentary that will air on the discovery channel. They said to wear business casual, not solid black or solid white. I wear scrubs to work and all my business casual clothes are solid black. I told my hubby what I was supposed to wear and he laughed his butt off. Luckily, they said a colored cardigan over a black top was fine, so I had to dig a celery green sweater out of my winter clothes. Wearing non neutrals is HARD!!

  2. Bart is right, you look awesome!! I agree that Old Navy should put you in their catalog, better yet, your whole family…their business whole double. 😉

  3. That is a great shirt. Yup, colors look good on you. I should try and add more to my wardrobe, as well.

  4. You know, I can't think of one single person I know who looks better in a neutral. We can't all wear the *same* bright colors, but they do have a way of brightening everyone up. So don't feel bad that Bart was right…looks like it was inevitable.

  5. oh yes…I have an unfortunate fault of making myself look like a filing cabinet in times past. Must be careful. You look great!

  6. I love the shirt! I agree; I think you look great in bright colors. But you shouldn't give up the neutrals! You look great in everything. 🙂

  7. That shirt is perfect! The colors are so fun 🙂 And I had to laugh because that sounds like my husband and me: I gloat way more when I'm right than he does when he's right.
