And the book deals seem to agree because they are coming in hot!

Here are some terrific book deals to check out this weekend!

10 September Weekend Book Deals

Magic Marks the Spot by Caroline CarlsonMagic Marks the Spot: Very Nearly Honorable League of Pirates by Caroline Carlson – audiobook
This book is so fun and Ella loved the whole series about a very determined girl who is set on joining a league of pirates. The audiobook is fantastic!

The Siren by Kiera Cass – ebook
I blew through the first three books of her Cinderella-meets-the-Bachelor Selection series. The Siren is a stand-alone YA romance novel, a classic star-crossed lovers story, where a young siren starts falling in love with a human boy.

All Things Bright and Beautiful by James Herriot – ebook
Are you a James Herriot fan? I’m not an animal lover at all, but I absolutely adore his books about being a veterinarian in England (also, the new PBS show is incredible – our whole family has loved watching it together).

The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton – ebook
I’ve read several of Kate Morton’s books and this is by far my favorite. When Laurel is sixteen, a stranger arrives at a family birthday party, calling Laurel’s mother by name and her mother stabs and kills him. The family never mentions it again and the story splits into two parts – Laurel, fifty years in the future, now an extremely successful actress, knows her mother is close to death, and finds herself desperate to understand, before it’s too late, what exactly happened with her mother and this mysterious man she murdered. The other story takes place in the early 40s, during WWII, in London where two young women become friends in the days of the London Blitz. Somehow these stories intersect and Laurel is determined to figure out how. (Full review here)

Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals by Oliver Burkeman – ebook
I could not put this book down – it’s a totally different look at time management than I’ve EVER read before. If you’re tired of feeling rushed or like life is just a race toward more and more productivity, this book is for you! It’s a pretty dense book, but I enjoyed reading it a few pages at a time over a couple of months.

The Terrible Two by Mac Barnett & Jory JohnThe Terrible Two by Mac Barnett & Jory John – audiobook
Ella and I listened to it together several years ago (she went on and listened to the rest of them alone) and it’s hilarious about two boys trying to out-prank each other. Now, all four of my girls can recite pretty much the entire book from memory because they’ve listened to it so many times.

Belly of the Beast by Jonathan AuxierBelly of the Beast by Jonathan Auxier – audiobook
My girls have loved the books in this series about Auggie who is in charge of the one-of-a-kind Fabled Stables. This is book #3 in the series, and book #2 is also on sale for $2.99. (Like Mercy Watson books, you can read these in any order if you’d like).

Gustavo, The Shy Ghost by Flavia Z. DragoGustavo, The Shy Ghost by Flavia Z. Drago – audiobook
Gustavo is great at being a ghost – he glows in the dark and floats through walls and makes objects levitate. But the thing he loves most is making beautiful violin music and he wants to share that with the monsters around him. But when he’s invisible, that’s a tricky prospect. Is he destined to be lonely forever?

A Super Sticky Mistake by Alison DonaldA Super Sticky Mistake: The Story of How Harry Coover Accidentally Invented Super Glue! by Alison Donald – audiobook
Harry is a remarkable scientist, but when he keeps making mistake after mistake, he realizes this “mistake” could be the making of a very sticky product…SUPER GLUE!

Kaia and the Bees by Maribeth BoeltsKaia and the Bees by Maribeth Boelts – audiobook
Kaia’s father keeps bees on the roof of their urban apartment building but Kaia is TERRIFIED of bees.
