5 Christmas Books That Have Been Turned Into Movies
It’s so magical to see your favorite Christmas books, like The Polar Express, come to life on screen. Here are a few of my favorite Christmas books that have been turned into movies.
5 Christmas Books That Have Been Turned Into Movies
The Polar Express
Winner of the Caldecott Award, The Polar Express is magically turned from a 40 page picture book into a full-length film. Perfectly magical and you don’t get better than Tom Hanks as a narrator. (Book here; movie here)
Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer
I love this funny little stop-motion movie and my girls watch my parents’ old VHS version of it every time we visit during the holidays. (Book here; movie here)
How The Grinch Stole Christmas
There are several versions of this movie now, but I’m still partial to the old animated version (although I hear the new one with Benedict Cumberbatch is excellent – I’m adding it to our list of Christmas movies to watch this year!) (Book here; movie here)
A Christmas Carol
The full-length book may be a bit long for young children, but all four of my girls LOVE A Muppet Christmas Carol. Bart had never seen it until last year – I was glad to bring this bit of holiday cheer into his life. (Book here; movie here)
Miracle on 34th Street
If you’re looking for a good Christmas read-aloud, you can’t go wrong with Miracle on 34th Street and the movie version is spectacular. (Book here; movie here)
Do you have a favorite Christmas book that’s been made into a movie I left off this list? I’d love it if you left them in the comments to make this post even more helpful!
