Have your kids read THE CRITTER CLUB series?

Star (who is in first grade) is currently obsessed with them and has blown through 20+ books in the series in the last month or so.

They have lots of (black and white) illustrations, good size text and cute stories. I’d say they’re a similar level to Heidi Heckelbeck and about one step more advanced than Princess in Black!

Look for them next time you’re at the library and see what your child thinks 🤩

One of the most frequent questions I got after my New York City trip with Ella was “how did you feel comfortable navigating a big city on your own?”

I was lucky to have parents who prioritized teaching me how to use a map, find my way around an airport, utilize public transportation and generally feel capable in a new location.

Now I’m working to teach my kids the same skills and I’m sharing 9 ways I’m doing it on my blog today!

We spent six years living in Austin and it feels b

We spent six years living in Austin and it feels both like one of the biggest shaping forces of my adult life - Bart and I loved here shortly after we got married, bought our first house, worked our first post-college jobs, went to grad school and spent our first three years as parents here - and a million lifetimes ago.

We took the girls around the @utaustintx campus today and showed them the buildings where we went to grad school and it was just so fun to be back there.

And then we all bought Longhorn sweatshirts and I realized that despite all the tuition I paid, I never owned a single Texas item of clothing. Glad to finally rectify that a decade later 😅

Do you have a sister?

Being with @merricksart this weekend makes me so happy that my girls have a whole slew of sisters - there is just nothing better!

Who else can you say “remember that guy from high school who was friends with what’s his name” and they immediately know who you are talking about?

Or knows every line of that obscure movie only your family loves (one of our family’s? The Court Jester 🤩)?

My only complaint is that we have different shoe sizes so I can’t borrow (or steal) any of her shoes 😅
