Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease a standard-size loaf pan and set aside.

In a stand mixer, beat together the butter and sugar. Add the eggs, the bananas (no need to mash them beforehand), the buttermilk and the vanilla. Mix until well-combined.

Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, then mix until just combined.

Pour into your loaf pan and bake until the top is browned and a toothpick comes out cleanly, 60-75 minutes.

Let cool in the pan and then remove carefully, slice, and serve.
