I know lots of people who mostly like blogs for the pictures. I am not one of those people. Give me a lot of well-written words any day of the week. Also, for me it is easy to sit down and pound out some (not particularly well-written) words, while pictures take soooooo long to upload, choose, organize in the post, etc. Okay, so maybe my real problem is laziness.
Either way, this post is the answer to you picture-loving people’s prayers. Bart was in charge of the camera on our New York Thanksgiving Weekend Bonanza which means that there were approximately ten times as many pictures taken as there would have been had I been manning the camera.
And, with that lengthy introduction . . . . here we go:
We took the Bolt Bus down to New York. It departs right from South Station and costs about $15 a person. Pretty awesome. Many many thanks to Emily Kate for the info about this.

Amen to your first paragraph. Love the pictures, though. Looks like you had a great time. You saw Mary Poppins??? The book stores look too wonderful for words.
Mad Hadder says
Amen to Strand's. No Macey's Parade??? Rockettes????

So jealous! I've never been to New York (State or City). Tell Bart thanks for taking pictures for us.

Mmmm. I'm stuck on the Max Brenner pictures. I'm dying to go there.
Yankee Girl says
Sounds and looks so wonderful. I especially enjoyed the ferry pic!
Emily says
I love love love love this! I am SO happy you made it to Max Brenner and real sorry that you missed out on Grimaldis (although the line is usually crazy and I'm sure worse over a holiday weekend.) I knew you would love the Strand. I saw a preview for Rob Pattinson's new movie and as soon as I saw the Strand my heart skipped a beat. I am so green with envy at the fun you had. At least you got to enjoy the city for me!
Angiegirl says
You made it to Books of Wonder! Yay!

That looks like so much fun! Tom and I will have to go on a trip for Thanksgiving some time.
Rachel says
Your trip looks fabulous. I'm kind of completely jealous.

You two are like the world's cutest couple, always on grand adventures!! The photos are wonderful.

I LOVE New York! It looks like you had a great time! I, too, hate looking like a tourist. I do most of the picture taking, but if we're in a crowded place, I make the hubby do it. Then HE can look like the tourist. 😉
Melissa says
You guys look like you had fun!
I'm jealous that you visited during the holiday season, so the shop windows were more impressive. Sorry you missed Grimaldi's. I thought it was the best pizza.
As for taking pictures, I'm the photographer in our home, which drives the hubby crazy. He wishes I didn't look so touristy, but heh, in NYC, plenty of people look like tourists.
Douglas Carl says
Looks like you had a great trip. Thanks for the pictures. Even now I think of moving there.
Britt says
You are the cutest!

Looks super fun! I've only been to NYC once, and I had to work so much while I was there I didn't get to do anything fun. But, I did eat at Robert DeNiro's restaurant, which was fantastic.
(also, Bill is there right now for work, boo)
heidikins says
I love that your trip revolves around food and books. And Mary Poppins (I loved that show–so fantastic)

Totally adorable pictures! Looks like you had a great time. And hey, I'm always happy when we're near the Charmin-sponsored restrooms at the MN State Fair because I know they'll be fairly clean and have lots of TP, so no judging from me! Plus, it's rather a hoot that they have a store, sounds worth going in for that! 🙂

Sorry I've been so delinquent at commenting on posts. I have been reading them but my hands aren't always free anymore…. I love that you got to do so many wonderful things while you were there, most especially Max Brenner and Mary Poppins!
